Vice President's Letter
November 2009
Hello Class of 1990!
It has been exactly 23 years since we first set eyes on each other for Outdoor Action or as we hauled our belongings into our dorm rooms just before those first days of college in September of 1986.
Now we are approaching 20 years since our graduation from Old Nassau, and it is time to reminisce and celebrate what we’ve gained since then…wisdom and life experiences, and even more appreciation of our alma mater, the friends we made there, the growing up we did, the professors we met, the learning in which we were immersed, and so much more, of course.
Leading the Class of 1990 Reunion parade (not to be confused with P-rade) is German Lara and a dedicated, enthusiastic team of classmates who have decided on “Keepin’ it RIO [at Old Nassau]” as the theme for our 20th Reunion. As we samba through campus (lessons will be offered), we will instill a little Carnaval spirit into our Rio de Janeiro-esque P-rade showing. If you would like to be involved and join the Reunion Committee, please contact German at reunionchairs@princeton90.com. And save the date – May 27-30, 2010.
In addition, stay tuned for more on our “Puttin’ Down Roots” ceremony, which also will take place during this year’s reunion weekend. While some classes plant their class ivy at Nassau Hall when they graduate, we are going to plant ours at our 20th Reunion, and I believe it will be more of a full-fledged vine at this point…
As we fill our coffers to support financially our celebratory efforts, please return your class dues card with dues and news (if you’ve paid already, then thank you!). Secretary Ethan Stein and all of us would love to hear where you are and what you’re doing (and with whom) these days. Or, you can visit our class website – www.princeton90.com – to pay dues online. Note that you can pay all timeframes of dues – this year’s dues are $40, but we accept future dues and any past dues retroactively! Please contact Treasurer Len Cardinal (treasurer@princeton90.com) if you would like to pay any dues prior to 2008, and I’m sure we can arrange it.
Finally, congratulations to our class on our impressive Annual Giving showing this past year. Despite the challenging economic environment, our class raised $178,069 with 47.4% participation, our 3rd highest total for a non-major reunion year. Overall, Princeton’s Annual Giving finished at $44,597,731 with 57.7% participation. A special thanks to Mary Claire Allvine, Kent Hawryluk and Page Bondor for their Annual Giving leadership this year. Please contact Page Bondor (annualgiving@princeton90.com) if you would like to join our 2009-2010 Class of 1990 Annual Giving team.
Best regards to all of you and your families, and hope to see you at our 20th!
