** ALL DORMITORY HOUSING IS SOLD OUT!! **
Dormitory housing options on or near campus are as follows:
On Campus Dormitory Rooms: These rooms are located directly around our 20th reunion site (Little/Edwards Courtyard) but may be in other parts of campus also. Room configurations include singles, doubles, triples and quads (all beds will be filled, so all non-single bedded rooms will be shared rooms). Parking is available in University lots.
Princeton Theological Seminary Rooms: These rooms are located less than a half mile west of campus (a less noisy option). All rooms are singles. There is ample free parking.
Note: No dormitory rooms have A/C. All rooms are non-smoking. Pets are not allowed.
Cost: The cost for all dormitory housing is $120 per person per bed. This price is consistent, regardless of where your housing is located or the length of your stay. This cost includes basic linens and a blanket, towel and pillow.
Payment: You need to pre-pay for your rooms at the time of registration.
Deposit: Please note that at Reunion check-in, you will be required to leave checks for the refundable key/linen deposits of $100 total (2 separate $50 checks are required – see below for more detailed information on this. Please note that the deposits are in addition to the $120 room charge).
Register early! While we will make every effort to house as many classmates as possible, University housing is limited and CANNOT be guaranteed. Therefore, all housing will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis (based on the order in which we receive registration payment). The best advice to secure housing is to register and pay as soon as possible (we will send an email when online registration is up and running). While there are opportunities to room with classmates, each Class of ‘90 classmate must sign up individually (see below for more detailed information on rooming with classmates). Please note that it is optional to purchase housing for Reunions, but you must register for the reunion (e.g. purchase a wristband) in order to sign up for housing.
The university has allocated 195 on campus beds to our class among various locations, and we have secured an additional 25 beds at the Princeton Theological Seminary. We will assign rooms in the order in which we receive payment for registration.
You will only be notified if you requested University housing and DO NOT receive it.
On-line registration – first come, first served: You must request and pay for on-campus housing as part of the online registration process, which opens at 12 noon EDT on Decenber 1, 2009. You will be charged per bed regardless of length of stay. Our class allotment of dormitory housing is full, and our wait list is full also. We will notify you if you are on the wait list, and will notify you if a bed becomes available. In the interim, we encourage you to find other accommodations. Classmates who prefer to not be on the wait list will be provided with a full refund; classmates who are on the wait list and are not ultimately assigned a bed will be provided with a full refund as promptly as possible after Reunions weekend occurs (if you paid by check, we will destroy the check; if you paid with a credit card, we will issue a refund to your card).
One Registration Required per Each Bed Requested: One pre-paid registration (in addition to the per bed cost) is required for each on campus bed requested. For example, if you request 3 on campus beds, you also have to pay for 3 reunion registrations (the registrations can be in any combination of adult(s) vs children, although there does need to be at least one classmate registration).
Roommate requests: If you would like to room with someone in particular, please fill in the name of your desired roommate in the appropriate space on the housing registration form. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but cannot promise that we will be able to honor all of them. Make sure you and your friends register early and put down the same preferences. You will be provided with housing assignments upon arriving on campus for Reunions weekend.
Surprise roommates: Please note that, regardless of where your housing is, if you buy one bed in a multi-bedded room we will assign someone to the other bed(s). We need to fill all open beds to accommodate all of the requests that we anticipate.
Linens: All "on campus” housing comes with a bare bones set of sheets, pillow and towels. We recommend that you bring blankets, pillows and any other more comfortable items from home. Additionally, in case you’ve forgotten the good old days, all campus housing features communal bathrooms, usually a short walk from the room, and the rooms do not have A/C.
Children: If you plan to stay on campus with children, please plan for them to share a room with you or an older sibling. There is tremendous demand for beds and we want to accommodate as many classmates as we possibly can. We are asking all families to use space efficiently so that we can make the most of our scarce housing resources. There is no charge for children staying in a room with you on an air mattress or cot that you bring with you.
Deposit Checks (Bring 2 Separate Checks):Please bring two blank checks with you. You will have to leave separate checks at the time of registration to cover security deposits for your room keys and linens. Checks will be cashed only if linens ($50) or keys ($50) are not returned. Upon return of keys and linens, your checks will be returned to you.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
A list of the area hotels is set forth below, which is separated out into 2 categories – (1) those hotels where we have blocks of rooms reserved for the Class of 1990 and (2) those hotels that only accept reservations on a space available basis. Even if we have a block of rooms set up at a hotel, you need to make your own reservations. Each hotel has its own deadlines for making reservations and cancellation policies, many of which are outlined below.
Check with the individual hotels to learn of their specific reservation and cancellation policies and, for those hotels where we have blocks of rooms reserved, tell them you are with the Princeton Class of 1990, so you can access our reserved block of rooms). Since reunions are obviously an incredibly busy week for all hotels in the area, their cancellation policies have become increasingly strict.
In most cases, you will need to pay in full at the time of reservation, there will be a minimum night stay (typically 2 nights) and an additional charge for more than 2 occupants, and your charges are non-cancellable, non-transferrable and non-refundable. Please note that in most cases the cutoff date for making reservations is also the cutoff date for canceling reservations for no (or a nominal) charge. Cribs and roll-aways are available at most hotels for an additional per night fee.
All of the hotels listed below are serviced by the University Reunions Hotel Busing Service so shuttles are available to and from the hotels and the University at scheduled times.
